This listing is for the non refundable Month 1 instalment to book your place on our brand new and exclusive 'Happy Stitches Journal ~ Volume 3' Subscription Club designed by Sarah. This will be posted to you in January 2025.

Back for a fourth year! Join us in 2025 to sew a beautiful hand quilted fabric journal, this is the third in our series of fabric books. It will be a keepsake of happy stitches, that we're sure will become a much loved family treasure.

We hope that you will join us for a year of happy stitches.

What is the Happy Stitches Journal Club and how does it work?

The Happy Stitches Journal Volume 3, is a 12 Month subscription club running from January 2025 up to and including December 2025.

Each month you will receive a parcel full of loveliness directly through your letterbox, which will include all the fabrics, embroidery thread, wadding, plus pretty trims and vintage buttons and of course detailed instructions for you to complete that months page.

Volume 3 is inspired by Sarah's love of block and lino cut printing. Each page includes one of Sarah's hand drawn embroidery designs which is pre-printed on to a beautifully soft, cotton linen mix fabric. You'll be stitching the design using gorgeous Aurifil 12 wt cotton, which has been chosen to co-ordinate with the beautiful Liberty Tana Lawn™, which will bind each page. Over the year you will receive 13 different spools of 12 wt thread and you will have plenty left over for future projects. You will use the 12wt thread for both the hand embroidery and also to hand quilt each page.....the hand quilting adds the lovely squishiness that makes the fabric book unique!

Each month you’ll sew a new 'page' and in month 12 you will also make a beautiful hand quilted cover, which again features a beautiful Liberty Tana Lawn™.

How big is the finished Journal?

The book is approx 9" square and 2 1/2" thick.

What techniques will be used?

The journal combines a mix of Hand Embroidery, Applique and Hand Quilting. The majority of the book is hand sewn, but Sarah did use a Sewing Machine for the first step in adding the bindings and also for the journal cover.... if you prefer you could of course stitch everything by hand.

Don't forget, in addition to the monthy instructions, there are also various 'a little happy tutorials' and handy tips on our Schoolhouse Website to help you along the way.

Will I receive exactly the same fabrics as used in the sample?

We will where possible send the same fabrics as Sarah used, however as this is now our fourth year running this volume, there will be fabric substitutions. Rest assured, Sarah will choose something equally as scrumptious and the journal will retain the feel and character of the original.

What other supplies will I need?

Piecing Thread: Sarah used Aurifil 50wt #2311 in her machine and for the hand sewing.

Tools: Hand sewing needles, (Sarah used her favourite Applique needles for all the hand sewing elements and the Big Stitch Hand Quilting needles for the 12wt thread elements), a 7" embroidery hoop and your usual patchwork and sewing related tools.

Can I purchase the pattern on its own?

No, not at this moment in time...... Sorry!

How much does the Club cost?

The monthly Club cost including postage is:

International Club Price ~ £32* (Via Standard Airmail - No Tracking) £36* (Via Priority Mail) (*includes postage but excludes UK VAT, please note the listing price will adjust and reduce to this once you have entered your country or residence at checkout)

When and how will I make my payment?

You will be paying for Month 1 today when you book your place and your month 1 parcel will be posted on or around the 20th January 2025*.

*Whilst our very best intention is to post your month one parcel on the above date, as a small business we will be ordering the supplies required for the Journals once final numbers have been confirmed. Occasionally things can take slightly longer than anticipated, but rest assured your parcels will be posted as soon as we possibly can!

VERY IMPORTANT: On the 20th February 2025, we will update the Happy Stitches Journal 'Members Page' which you can find HERE, with a link to set up your monthly Paypal subscription, which will cover months 2 though to 12. Please make a note in your diary!

We are also more than happy for you to make your monthly payment to us from your Bank Account directly into our Bank Account, should you prefer this method, simply get in touch once you have signed up and we will provide you with all the required information.

If you would like to do this, on Subscription Day in February, there will be an option to set up a single subscription payment that will cover all the volumes that you have joined.
